COURSE TITLE:  2016 Energy Rating Index for Residential Energy Code Compliance

COURSE DESCRIPTION
During the 2016 legislative session, the Florida Legislature fast tracked Section R406 from the 2015 International Energy Conservation code. Commonly called the ERI path, this is an additional performance calculations that can be used effective July 1, 2016.  This course explains what the ERI is, how it differs from Section R405, how it is similar and what needs to be submitted to use this new compliance option.

COURSE OBJECTIVES
The overall goal of this course is to ensure participants are familiar with Section R406, enacted by the legislature and to avoid confusion with Section R405.

SPECIFIC PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to:

• Recognize the new ERI (R406) path.
• Name three ways ERI (R406) is the same as Performance (R405).
• Name three ways ERI (R406) is different from Performance (R405).

Recall where ERI specific criteria can be found in compliance paperwork.

PRESENTATION METHOD
This course will be presented as an instructor led lecture using electronic media including slides. Time will also permit discussion periods on specific topics.
EVALUATION METHOD
The evaluation will be conducted through a written response on course objectives described above. A copy of the Evaluation form is attached.
